TOWN OF LOCKPORT WASTEWATER SYSTEM

The Town of Lockport, Louisiana is a municipality of about 3500 residents within the city limits.  They are served by a wastewater system built in the early 1990’s to replace a system built in the early 1950’s. The system is a very simple design consisting of an aeration basin, clarifier, non-aerated sludge tank, drying bed and place to store solids. I lived most of my life within those city limits, so Lockport’s wastewater system was very handy for me to monitor.
